The insurer’s first offer is not necessarily the true value of your damages. Often times during catastrophes the adjuster’s estimates are missing things, are inaccurate or are undervalued. Further there is often hidden or unknown damage that no one had discovered yet. Because of policy conditions and relevant state laws, disputing your claim is often one of the most important steps you will take in resolving your claim. In many cases, the date of dispute is the critical date from which all future actions of the parties involved will be based. If you have a dispute, it is highly recommended that you speak with a licensed professional public adjuster prior to presenting the dispute to the insurer.
